About a week ago I had the pleasure of shooting and editing Patricia and Bradley’s wedding ceremony. Notice I said edit also, that’s right almost 9 months ago Bradley the groom approached me with the challenge of editing the first half of their video in less than 15 hours to show at their reception. I was hesitant at first especially since Bradley asked me to do it HD, but at the same time I like a challenge so I took it on. I got home from the shoot at around 9 PM at night and transcoded about 3 hours of footage and then got to editing. Lets just say I didnt get much sleep that night. In the end though I made it on time and it was a big hit at the reception. Here’s a short trailer to show a little of what I did. What I did for the reception was a half hour.

Kate and John were a great couple to work with. We lucked out with the rain and were still able to get in a good photo and video session in at Forest park. Congrats you two.

New Gifted Wedding Couple: Amber Small and Ryan Creek!

Amber Small and Ryan Creek, both from small towns in Missouri, were introduced by friends when they were both students at Mizzou. After four years together, they got engaged in October of 2007 and started planning the simple wedding surrounded by lots of family and friends that they’ve both always dreamed of. Several months later, they found out that they would be adding a new member to the family they were beginning.

Amber and Ryan welcomed Harper Ashlyn Creek into their lives on February 2, 2009. “At 8.1 lbs she was perfect!” remembers Amber. The day after she was born, the couple noticed a small, blister-like bump on the bottom of her left foot. Not extremely concerned, they asked their nurse who told them her foot may have been traumatized by the PKU test (a routine, blood test given to newborns to check for necessary enzymes). Their pediatrician was equally unconcerned at their first appointment but referred them to a dermatologist when the bump was still there at Harper’s two month check-up. After several more doctors visits and no answers, they ended up at St. Louis Children’s Hospital where a dermatology specialist immediately ordered a biopsy. The next day they were given Harper’s diagnosis: Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, an extremely rare form of pediatric cancer. So rare that, as Amber says, “We would have better luck at winning the Powerball…twice!”

Harper began on May 29, 2009 after careful consideration and many second opinions. At this moment, she is undergoing her third regimen of chemo due to three relapses of tumors during treatment. This extremely aggressive cancer is characterized by quick and building a resistance to the drugs used to fight it. “Her prognosis was poor from the beginning and after these relapses we don’t even want to know where those numbers sit,” said Amber. “We know that Harper is our miracle and those numbers may or may not pertain to us, but they are not our destiny. Her physical health is amazingly good and we will to fight this with her until she shows signs that she can no longer tolerate the toxins needed to beat the monster inside her little body.” You can follow Harper’s journey on www.caringbridge.org/visit/harpercreek.

Throughout Harper’s journey, Amber and Ryan have been surrounded by the support of family and friends and would like to make their wedding day not only about them, but more importantly a celebration of Harper and their support system. They will marry in October of 2010 and their reception will be held at Balducci Vineyards in Augusta, MO.

Milestone Productions specializes in documentary style event video capturing the moments so the day is never forgotten, and Milestone Pro Films a more artistic interpretation of ones day utilizing specialized equipment. The Milestone Pro Film is a very personal story capitalizing on all those moments one videographer cant capture (card, gift exchange, guest reactions, etc).

A I-Phone 4 Film

I was sent this link by a fellow associate and couldn’t help being blown away by the production quality of this piece. I should mention before you watch that the whole thing was shot and edited on an I-Phone 4. Could this eventually be the way events are captured as well. Crazy thought to ponder.

Laura and Michael Same Day Edit

Every once in a while a wedding day comes along where everything just falls into place. This was definitely the case for Laura and Michael’s wedding day. They really couldn’t have been any cooler and fun to work for, and my friends with JHP photography set up some awesome stuff for us to shoot. Nice day and awesome people make this a special same day edit for our new cinematic division Milestone Pro Films : )

"A Gifted Wedding" Anna and Manuel Same Day Edit

Anna Jimenez of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri experienced the wedding of her dreams on January 9, 2010 and it was all no cost to her or her family.

Anna suffers from ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig ’s disease, and is now confined to a wheelchair. Less than three months ago she mentioned to a friend, Dawn Thornton, she regretted not having a beautiful, traditional wedding ceremony as she married her husband Manuel in a small courthouse wedding over 15 years ago. Anna is only 40 years old with 3 small children.

Dawn began contacting local businesses to assist her in making Anna’s dream come true and was amazed at the response!
